Accessories and other components

Gravel barrier profiles

Gravel barrier profiles serve as a separation between the green roof and the gravel. These profiles are used in an extensive green roof. In a semi-intensive green roof, the height of the profiles varies depending on the thickness of the vegetation layer.

Gravel

It is recommended to provide gravel at every detail of the green roof. In practice, gravel edges are only applied where necessary in terms of technical and fire regulations. These guidelines are supported by the Belgian Federation for Roof and Façade Greenery, which represents almost all Belgian market players in the field of green roofs.

Drainage mats

A drainage mat is designed to create intensive and extensive green roofs. With intensive green roofs, however, it is wise to consider water requirements. If the plants need water, a thicker drainage mat can help reduce the need for irrigation.

Root barrier foil

When a roof does not have a root-resistant membrane, a root barrier foil is applied. This foil protects the roof from root growth through the roofing material.Only after this step is the further construction of the green roof carried out.

Protection fleece

A protective film to protect your roof. If your roof has a rough or sharp surface, we recommend first placing a protective sheet under the root protection film. Due to the high density of the wall and ground felt, sharp parts cannot damage your foil.
